I have found a wonderful shortcut that is nothing short of amazing… I love love love to have my nails done, whether it’s a simple and sweet manicure, a full arcylic set or even once in a blue moon, a french manicure. But, I do not enjoy the wait, the feeling of being rushed (babysitter included or not) and the decade it takes for my nails to dry for fear the minute I leave, my nail polish will get chipped, which I never escape anyways. I have found KISS Press-On nails. Some sets come with glue as an extra way to put these on but they look and feel like the real thing! It took me about 5 minutes to apply a full set (no glue needed) They offer a wide variety of designs, colors, and lengths, and the best part, you can re-use! Win-win! The Bitcoin Movement and its’ hidden significance

I love revolutionizing. Innovating. Stepping out. Choosing to do something different. Becoming the change we want to see in the world. Becoming so uncomfortable in the space we live in and deciding to make a change, whether on a small or gigantic scale is phenomenal. Netflix binging, I came across “Banking on Bitcoin” which is a film showing the history behind Bitcoin and its creation, a digital currency. And it’s a major change. The idea behind Bitcoin is giving power back to the people and making the hard-earned money we work for stretch further than it would with our normal, fee-filled banks and institutions, our money-transfer services, and our currency exchange booths. I also took notice in how people are waking up, realizing the government does not work for US, the people, but for THEMSELVES, and THEIR retirement fund. They do not care if our kids can afford backpacks, as long as their kids get to go to Harvard. America is considered to be a “free country” however everything we do is regulated, taxed, and charged interest at every possible chance. Freedom of religion or speech is “OK” but let financial freedom become a topic of discussion and every U.S. government official is raising chaos and creating new rules and regulations.. We must never forget, Latina or not, WE are the majority and THEY will always be the minority. The Bitcoin movement is more than just taking our financial freedom back, it’s about what this means for THE PEOPLE. Taking back our money consequentially means taking back our power and I think this is a great step towards releasing the handcuffs of government interference.

Gasolineras de Shell tiene un programa que se llama “Fuel Rewards” para accumular puntos de cada compra de gas. Este programa es GRATIS para inscribirse y super facil para comenzar a ahorrar! Cuando te inscribses, automaticamente te regalan 6 meses de estatus Gold (dorado) donde puedes recibir 5c/galon de descuento comparado a los 3c/galon cuando estas en estatus Silver (platiado.) Despues de los 6 meses, tienes los proximos 3 meses para aser 6 compras de Gas de 10 galones o mas para poder quedarse se en nivel Gold. Feliz ahorrando!

Shell Fuel Rewards

Shell Gas Stations has a rewards program to earn points on everyday fuel purchases. It is free to sign up and super easy to start saving! Similar to Plenti at Exxon Mobil stations, you can swipe your card or punch in your phone number and accumulate “fuel points” to redeem a certain amount (for example, 15c/gallon) off your fuel purchase. You can earn and redeem points on ANY type of fuel and can redeem points up to a $50 fuel purchase. Also similar to Plenti, you can also earn rewards at the online shopping marketplace, dining out, and travel. You can also earn referral points, but keep in mind they expire the last day of the following month in which the person was referred! For example, if you referred Ana on July 2017, your referral points would expire August 31, 2017. Fuel Rewards also has tiers on which members are placed. New Fuel Rewards customers are automatically gifted with 6 months Gold Status memberhsip which gives 5c/gallon compared to Silver Status which only gives 3cents per gallon. To keep your Gold Status after 6 months, fuel up atleast 2x a month for the next 3 months and you’ll automatically renew your Gold Status. Happy savings!

Pods & Tots

I’m sure everyone is familiar with the new frenzy of laundry pacs. Whether it be Tide pods or Gain flings, many mothers use these to save time and stickiness when doing the ever so dreaded laundry, including myself. We spend less time pouring detergent and more time doing actual laundry, like putting clothes in the dryer or folding the never ending pile of clean clothes (ugh!) Also, these are much less heavier to carry around if you don’t do laundry at home. While we are always on the look-out making sure our tots don’t grab our things (mooooom!), we must also remember to keep these laundry pacs out of reach of our little ones. These are seemingly intriguing to us as adults, imagine a tiny tot! They are delicate and with one curious chomp they quickly turn into our worst nightmare! Make sure they are stored in a cool place and out of reach of our littles, remember it only takes a second.

Day 1: My Breastfeeding Journey

August 1-7 is World Breastfeeding Week. My son just recently weaned at 13 months and I will forever cherish my first Breastfeeding journey. When I first found out I was pregnant at 16, una nińa todavía, I was determined to do my best to take care of mi bendición de Dios. It was hard, it still is. But I know that I am doing my best in creándolo. As young, Latina mothers we must let go of all the stigma surrounding us and parent the way we know or think we know best. Dando pecho is one of the ways we can make sure our babies are saludable y sanos. There are trials and tribulations, trust me, but I feel they are well worth it. I will always be a advocate for las mami’s choosing to breastfeed. Breastfeeding in public or with a cover. Pumping in the workplace or in the car. On demand or on a schedule. Whatever the case may be you are maravillosa. You are valiente. And you are reconocida. This not to bash formula, this is to recognize and appreciate all the mami’s for all the hard work breastfeeding takes and how they are not forgotten. I remember the day my son was born and no tenía leche. But I persisted and persisted and by the end of my hospital stay, a small hospital pump was brought to me. It just goes to show it takes dedicación y determinación because IT IS NOT EASY, pero si vale la pena.
